I have been around horses for over 20 years. Since the age of 8, I have been a rider, competitor, coach, and horse caretaker. I started taking english riding lessons as a child and reached the regional competitive level in hunter and jumper classes within a few years.
Unfortunately, I could never afford to attend enough shows, pay for the right coaching, and for the right horses to perform at a higher level.
I was lucky enough to have an extremely generous coach and mentor that did not charge me for coaching, transport to shows, or horse rental. I then went on to work for very successful grandprix showjumping athletes. I very quickly discovered that this was not for me.
I also have had several very generous friends who let me ride and care for their horses. In the last 10 years, I have had the opportunity to ride at numerous very different stables. Over that time, I learned more about western riding, and did a lot of shor and long distance trail riding. I also was seriously coached into natural horsemanship and horse-ball. As well, I had the opportunity during my college years to visit Assateague National Wildlife Refuge, and Chincoteague National Park (U.S.) to observe and study wild horses.

Throughout the years, I have always had a special place in my heart for horses who have neglectful or absent owners, or horses that traumatized because of abusive pasts. I often ended up taking care of horses who were severely neglected or abused, but also who had owners who no longer had the time to take basic care of them, ride, and stimulate them mentally. | |

- I have always desperately wanted to rescue horses in need.
